La Compte in collaboration with Reach to be Heard and Network for Human and Social Development was represented during the opening ceremony for La Compte “Asbar Khan Lodhi IT Technical Training Center” on 3 December 2025 at the new La Compte location.

The event was attended by graduating apprentices, currently enrolled apprentices, members of the general public and representatives of Reach to be Heard, Network for Human and Social Development and La Compte. The chief guest was Madam Salma Khalid, former director at National Rural Support Programme (NRSP)

La Compte computer lab now contains 10 dedicated desktops and 10 dedicated laptops which have been setup and ready with the following courses:

The lab is composed of 10 Dell Optiplex 790 Small Form Factor Desktop Computers with core i3 machines and DDR3 RAM (Between 4GB and 12GB) including software for technical training in the related fields.

The 10 laptops currently on strength in La Compte are all integrated with Linux via Zorin OS 17.3 and 18, and have virtualization software for running Windows 10.

Through these efforts, La Compte has begun the process for providing sustainable livelihood opportunities to the community as well as ensuring that the long term sustainability of our endeavors bears fruit.

La Compte is committed to Free and Open Source Software and will slowly convert the Desktops towards Linux frameworks with integrated virtualization.
